Meet Helen
Founder of Lila Yoga
Helen Jeffries is the founder of Lila Yoga and a holistic yoga practitioner supporting people of all ages and abilities to feel safe, comfortable and supported in their bodies.
With a background in Creative Expressive Therapies and many years working in education — including as a special school teacher and leader — Helen brings a deep understanding of nervous system regulation, inclusion and emotional wellbeing. Through her work in education, she came to recognise that regulation is the foundation for wellbeing, learning and connection for everyone she supported, and felt called to explore this work more deeply outside of the constraints of the education system.
Helen offers inclusive, responsive sessions that draw on yoga and mindfulness alongside complementary practices such as sound therapy, EFT, breathwork and embodied awareness. Her approach is trauma-aware, adaptable and led with compassion, meeting each person where they are on the day.
The name Lila Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word Lila, meaning Divine Play, reflecting Helen’s belief that wellbeing practices can be both therapeutic and gently playful. This is particularly present in her work with children and families, where creativity, choice and curiosity are central.
Much of Helen’s career has been spent working within the SEND community, developing extensive experience supporting those with disabilities, autism, ADHD and social, emotional, mental health needs. She offers group classes and 1:1 sessions, including specialist support for individuals with additional needs and their families.
